Who is eligible?
Any broadcast production house, advertising agency, network operator, motion graphics professional or specialty creative shop who has been the primary client contact for digital signage video content in 2007 is eligible to submit for an award.
Campaigns/marketing efforts that ran between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007 are eligible for entry. Campaigns may have been introduced earlier but must have run during this period.
There is no limit to the number submissions, however a separate entry form and entry fee must be completed for each submission. Entries will be accepted from any country, although all entries must be completed in English.
When is the entry deadline?
The entry deadline is Friday, December 14th, 2007.
How do I enter?
The 2008 "Fourth Screen Awards" Entry Forms are now available. Go to the Entry submission section on this website and follow the instructions.
How do I know you have received my entry?
You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your entries after all information has been entered into our database and the nominal entry fee has been received. This usually takes about two weeks from the time we receive it.
In What Categories can our group submit entries?
Categories include:
1) Brand advertising
Content aimed at achieving the brand development goals of a product, service or attraction.
2) Promotional advertising/merchandising:
Content aimed at activating the sale of a product or service at or near the point of purchase.
3) Interactive large form:
Content presented on displays of greater than 100” that include interaction such as text messaging, touch screen, motion sensing or other interaction.
Is there a time limit for the production piece submitted?
To ensure all submissions are viewed within the required timeframe, we require that the maximum time for a production piece be no more than 1:00 minute (60 seconds MAXIMUM).
When will judging results be released and awards presented?
On Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 at the 5:30 pm cocktail party co-sponsored by PRN following the "Fourth Screen Awards" FINALIST Showcase.
Who are the judges?
Industry leaders who are knowledgeable and experienced in marketing communications, production and subject categories. This group makes all the final award selections thus assuring a uniformly high level of quality among the winners.

What are the judging criteria?
The "Fourth Screen Awards" will demonstrate innovation and excellence in design and production, toward the achievement of objectives, for a spot that has run on multiple displays as part of a loop in an operational network.
Will spots created for various sizes of display be judged by the same criteria within each category?
Yes. The “Fourth Screen Awards” will demonstrate innovation and excellence in design and production, toward the achievement of objectives, for a spot that has run on multiple displays as part of a loop in an operational network.
Can Fourth Screen entrants attend the Out-of-Home Digital Media Content Strategies Summit?
All groups who make a submission will receive a 20% discount off the regular delegate fee for attending the Out-of-Home Digital Media CONTENT STRATEGIES Summit (including finalist showcase and cocktail reception).
If I make a submission, can I attend the Award's Finalist Showcase and cocktail reception?
Yes. All groups who make a submission will be eligible to attend the Award's Finalist Showcase and cocktail reception for a nominal fee of $495.
Those groups who are unable to attend will have their awards sent a few days following the awards presentations. You will receive a form requesting your preferred method of shipment, such as FedEx, UPS, Air Mail, etc.
How Many Awards Will there Be?
Gold Medal winners from the 3 categories will receive the coveted Fourth Screen Award for recognition of their achievement.
In addition, all winners will receive a 2008 "Fourth Screen Awards" Winner graphic suitable for use on their Web sites and in marketing materials. All partners including those involved in the production, post-production, graphic design of the winning submissions will receive a certificate in recognition of their contribution.
Will a photographer be present?
Yes, a photographer will be at the Award ceremonies. Custom pictures may be set up with your associates and clients following the Awards Presentation.
Is there an Entry Fee?
Yes. The entry fee is structured as follows:
1-3 submissions — $295 per entry
4-6 submissions — $245 per entry
7-10 submissions — $195 per entry
The fee covers administration and processing costs only. Entries will not be accepted if they are not accompanied by the entry fee and/or if they are incomplete in any way.
Once your entry has been processed, you will receive an entry Confirmation ID number which should be used in all follow-up correspondence .

In what format should I submit my entry?
We ONLY ACCEPT Apple Quicktime or AVI uncompressed video for best picture quality.
Digital files can be submitted to our server immediately. CD-ROM’s and DVD-R’s must be mailed to arrive on or before the Friday December 14th, 2007 deadline. DVDs must be in the Universal Region "0" or Region "1" and must be in the NTSC standard.

Once you send in your Entry Form, you will receive via email a confirmation number which will include instructions on how to (1) upload your submission(s) and/or (2) ship the entry on DVD. If shipping, please use the address directly below:

How do you publicize the winners?
Winners will be recognized via Press Release submissions sent to an extensive list of trade publications worldwide as well as posting in the Press Release section of this website.
Other media outlets in the digital signage industry also will be present reporting on the category winners. Further details to come...
